Evdokim Petrovich Minura was born into a large family in 1880 in the village of Reutintsy, Krolevetsky district of Sumy region. Since childhood, he was attracted to drawing. Suddenly, Evdokim managed to find a painter, from whom, with the permission of his parents, he began to learn how to make paints and paint walls. Then he moved to a Krolevets contractor and began working as a roofer and painter for payment. After a while, he moved to Kiev, where he also worked for various contractors, painted rooms.
New acquaintances, convinced of the guy's talent, advised him to enroll in the Kiev Art College of the Academy of Arts, promising to pay tuition fees. After passing the drawing exam, Evdokim was enrolled in the painting department. As a conscientious student, he was exempted from tuition fees and allowed to attend general education classes and art lectures. His teachers were famous artists: Alexander Murashko, Nikolai Pimonenko, Ivan Seleznev.
