Gury, Samon, and Aviv are Christian holy martyrs, confessors. Hagiographic sources attribute the time of the martyrdom of Saints Gurius, Samon, and Abib to the years 293-322. This is due to the fact that the church tradition brought together saints who lived at different times. The laymen Gurius and Samon were martyred during the great persecution under the Emperor Diocletian. The deacon Abib suffered in the persecution of the Emperor Licinius. He was sentenced to be burned, but when the fire was extinguished, the body of the saint remained incorruptible. The saint was buried in the same tomb with Gurius and Samon. The lives of the saints describe miracles performed by prayer addressed to the saints. Gury, Samon, and Abib are revered as intercessors of marriage.
