Vasily Dmitrievich Chegodar was born on November 25, 1918 in the village of Krasny Yar, Odessa region. He studied at the Perm Art College and the Kiev Art Institute. Teachers: Grigoriev S., Mikheev F., Shuisky E. Master of landscape and still life. Since 1946, he participated in national and All-Union exhibitions. Individual exhibitions were held in 1946, 1962 and 1982. Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Since 1982, he has been an Honored Artist of Ukraine. His works are represented in museums of Ukraine and private collections. The artist died in 1989.
