Georges Omerth (?-1925) is a French sculptor of the Art Nouveau era. The sculptor is known as the author of numerous chamber figurines with figures of children, dancers, ordinary workers, as well as expressive historical reconstructions. 

The sculpture depicts a guardsman of the Napoleonic Army, a sergeant of the Netherlands regiment.The close attention to the reproduction of the individual characteristics of the depicted character, characteristic of the sculptor's creative manner, is clearly visible in the presented sculpture.
