Simferopol artist Adam Zakharovich Katz was born on March 10, 1923 in Odessa. He graduated from the Odessa Art College (1941), the I. Y. Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (1950). The teacher by profession is R. Frents. Participant of the Great Patriotic War. He worked in the field of easel painting. Main works: "Primorsky Boulevard" (1961); "Valya Volchishche - geodesist of the North Crimean Canal" (1963); triptych "Kobzar" (1964), triptych "For the land, for Freedom" (1967) and others. Participated in exhibitions: republican since 1963, All-Union since 1961. Honored Artist of the Ukrainian SSR (1964). He was awarded medals. He died in 1984.
