An outstanding Soviet Ukrainian painter, master of landscape and still life. People's Artist of the USSR . Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. Sergey Fedorovich Shishko was born on June 25, 1911 in the village of Nosovka, Nezhinsky district, Chernihiv region, in the family of a veterinarian. In 1919, together with his parents, he moved to the city of Nizhyn. Here, in elementary school, he received his first lessons from an art teacher, P. Lapa, whom he always remembered with great respect and love. It was this teacher who managed to instill in his student a love of art and helped with the first practical lessons and professional advice, which played a significant role in the formation of Sergei Shishko as an artist with his own handwriting. In 1929-33, S.F. Shishko studied at the Kiev Art Institute under F. Krichevsky. In 1943 he graduated from the Leningrad Academy of Fine Arts, where his teacher was B. Johanson. People's Artist of Ukraine since 1964. People's Artist of the USSR since 1974. In 1982, S.F. Shishko became a laureate of the T.G.Shevchenko State Prize of Ukraine. Sergey Fedorovich lived and worked in the city of Kiev. The artist's works are represented in the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Simferopol, Sumy, Odessa, Chernihiv and many other art museums and private collections.
