Boris Afanasyevich Kolesnik was born on May 16, 1927 in the village of Vilshany, Kharkiv region. He studied at the Kharkov Art College (1944-1949), graduated from the Kharkov Art Institute (1955). The teachers of the specialty are O. Kokel, P. Kotov, L. Chernov. Member of the CPSU. He worked in the field of easel painting. Main works: "The First Spring" (1955); portrait of twice Hero of Socialist Labor Mikhail Savchenko (1961); "Ekaterina" (1963); "A Leaf from the Soldiers" (1965); "Spring" (1968) and others. Participated in exhibitions: republican since 1951, All-Union since 1961. He was awarded a medal. He died on January 20, 1992.
