Gschosmann Ludwig (Ludwig Gschosmann) is a famous German artist. According to the "General Lexicon of Artists of All Times and Peoples" (Allgemeines Künstlerlexikon: Die bildenden Künstler aller Zeiten und Völker) Ludwig Gschossmann was born on July 8, 1913 in Munich.

The artist spent his childhood and youth in Wachau. He was a student at the High School of Fine Arts in Hamburg, studied fresco art at the Royal Art School of Crafts in Munich, attended classes at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Professor Bauer's workshop, as well as courses for decorators in Augsburg and Lubeck.

At the beginning of his creative activity, Ludwig Gschossmann wrote in the style of realism. He became a notable landscape painter. But over the years , the influence of the Impressionists begins to be felt more and more in his work. Increasingly, he begins to paint canvases in the style of impressionism. In addition to landscapes, he pays attention to household subjects, draws scenes from social life. The famous Munich artist Otto Pippel played a major role in shaping the style and themes of Gschossmann.It was he who influenced the final formation Gschossmann, as an impressionist artist. The subject matter of the works has also changed: in addition to landscapes, images of scenes from urban and secular life have appeared. Among other motives that worried the artist: the image of Tegernsee, Starnberg and Starnberg Lake, Lake Zurich. Great fame was brought to the artist by a series of paintings under the general title "Boring Evenings": paintings depicting scenes of the opera ball in Munich and Baden-Baden. Hunting scenes are also known.

The artist's works were exhibited with great success both in Germany (for example, the House of Art, Munich), and in France, Sweden, Switzerland and In the United States of America (for example, in New York there is a permanent exhibition at the Arnot Art Gallery).
