"Red Roses"

Viktor Yemelyanovich Belov was born on December 2, 1925, in the village of Maryanovka, Sofiyivka District, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast. He studied at the Dnipropetrovsk Art School and worked in easel painting. He was a member of the USSR Union of Artists. He worked as an artist and chairman of the artistic council of the Kryvyi Rih Art Workshop. Many of his works are inspired by trips to the north of Russia, to places around Shevchenko, and to the Carpathians and Crimea. Beginning in 1961, he participated in national exhibitions. His main works include "Evening Kryvbas," "Youth of Kryvyi Rihstal," "Winter in Sednevi," "Morning," and others. His works are held in the Kharkiv and Dnipropetrovsk Art Museums. The artist died in May 2004.
