Viktor Petrovich Kucherenko was born on October 4, 1937 in the village of Kamyshny (now Shchastinsky district of Luhansk region, Ukraine). In 1965 he graduated from the Kiev Art Institute. During 1966-1974 he worked at the Kiev Painting and Sculpture Plant. He lived in Kiev in a house on Tulchinskaya Street. Since 1974 – in Voroshilovgrad (now Lugansk). He died in Lugansk on May 3, 1997.
