Grigory Petrovich Svetlitsky (1872-1948) was a classic of Ukrainian painting, professor, musician, violinist, composer. He was born in Kiev. He studied at the Kiev Drawing School of M. Murashko (1889-1893) with N. Pimonenko, H. Platonov, M. Vrubel. He is a master of lyrical landscape, in which he poetized national images and history.
He lived and worked in Kiev.
Today, Grigory Svetlitsky's legacy includes hundreds of works, his paintings are kept in many museums and private collections, in particular in the National Art Museum of Ukraine.
